Art
BLOG #8: I Create in the Dark

THE CONFESSION

I create in the dark.

I have written books, penned poems, composed music, and directed a few films and almost none of them have been seen by the world. They were never created for attention. They were born from a primal need to express myself, and in the act of doing so, I see myself better. I see my own form clearer.

Marketing my art was never a priority; the act of creation was. The more art I make, the more I see my true self forming, and the more I recognize the exact themes, colors, and textures I value. Each form naturally compliments the other in aesthetics and intention.

This is how I use art.

THE REAL PURPOSE FOR ME

But I also use art to advocate for a mission.

I believe the highest form of art is transformation when it is utilized as a potent tool for change. Art, like any creation, has the power to be both destructive and formative. When channeled for good, it triggers a ripple of transformation on both an intimate, internal level and a vast, societal scale.

And the more I feel the weight and relevance of this message, the more I want this body of work to finally experience the light.
